A Flip-Clock Screensaver

Once upon a time, I saw a screen saver I liked—it was an old-style analog flip clock, where the numbers were formed by painted slats. Thinking I’d give it a go, I asked my coworker where he’d found it, and promptly downloaded it. However, after an unfortunately-brief run of a couple weeks (and an OS update), it stopped working. Poof!

So, what better to do than to make my own! After a little googling and a little trial and error, I had written a web version of the screen saver that had been yoinked from under me. I added a feature for displaying in either 12- or 24-hour mode, and hosted the code, open-source.

I enjoyed this project as a personal challenge. In fact, I’m always looking for projects that give me a reason to learn something new.
